Self-Identity As The Source Of Action and Results
By Hiten Bhuta — Independent Researcher & Founder, CGS Infotech & Cyberweb Hotels
Abstract
This paper proposes that self-identity — the deeply held sense of who one is — functions as the primary source from which all meaningful action and lasting results emerge. Rather than treating action as the primary driver of results, the paper argues that identity precedes and shapes action, and that sustainable high performance in leadership, business, and life requires transformation at the level of identity rather than merely at the level of behavior or strategy.
Drawing on philosophical tradition, leadership studies, and the author’s experience in entrepreneurship, the paper builds a model in which the quality of one’s self-identity determines the quality of one’s actions, which in turn determines the quality of outcomes. The paper has practical implications for leadership development, coaching, organizational culture, and personal transformation.
